Mark is affiliated with the Geoecology Research Group in the Department of Physical Geography. He is also Director of Bachelor of Environmental Science for the Division of Environmental and Life Sciences (DELS)
Mark teaches units in the Resource and Environmental Management coherency and runs a field-based fluvial sedimentology course to New Zealand's Southern Alps with Dr Damian Gore, GEOS389. His research interests are largely focussed on floodplain systems, heavy metal pollution and the physical degradation of riverine habitats and the deposition of calcium carbonate sediments. Mark is also involved in consultancy projects relating to the physical and ecological condition of river systems as well as legal disputes and definitions of water courses.
